The aromas I conjure up

Admittedly I come from the shores of the Mediterranean, but Pays d’Oc is definitely where I thrive! The weather is perfect for me and the range of soil types allows me to fully express my broad-ranging array of aromas from strawberry and blackcurrant to white flowers and spices.

My favourite occasions

I like it when it’s hot and the sun is my best friend. Over a barbecue or a meal shared with friends, my freshness and exuberance are sure to make an impression.

The dishes I prefer

I’m reputed to be the grape variety favoured by those who like the good things in life! So it goes without saying that I pair with many different styles of food but my character and spice notes make me a particularly good partner for grilled white meats and fish.

My little secret…

As I said before, I love the sunshine, which is why I only grow around the Mediterranean. As soon as I move away from its shores, I struggle to ripen properly. You have to admit, I made the right choice!

My favourite dish

Marinated king prawns cooked on a hot plate

Place the prawns in a flat container.

For the marinade: 2 crushed cloves of garlic, a small bellpepper cut into strips, the juice of two lemons, olive oil, salt and Espelette pepper.

Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on either side, turn them over when they are pink, adding a little juice from the marinade, then enjoy with a delicious Grenache IGP Pays d’Oc.
